Assistive technology begins with people, caregivers, therapists, and the environments in which a device must actually work. A laboratory success is not enough.
- Co-design before specification.
- Safety and accessibility before spectacle.
- Local repair and understandable controls.
- Privacy, consent, and graceful manual fallback.
- Outcomes measured in agency and quality of life.
